As part of its education-focused initiatives, the Amaryan Charitable Foundation is supporting the Armenian translation of The Art of Violin Playing by world-renowned violinist and pedagogue Carl Flesch.

The project is being implemented by the Primavera Foundation, in collaboration with the German publishing house Ries & Erler, and is funded by the Amaryan Charitable Foundation, Apricot Capital, and Balchug Capital.

Flesch’s classic method is considered one of the most influential violin pedagogy manuals and is widely used in music education institutions across the world. Thanks to this translation, the method will now become accessible to Armenian musicians and teachers in their native language, enabling the full integration of this international standard into local music education.

The work covers all essential components of violin training, from posture and tone production to vibrato, bow and finger technique, musical memory, as well as performance strategies, diagrams, and excerpts from renowned composers. Until now, Armenian musicians had access only to a Soviet-era Russian edition. The Armenian version will be a complete and up-to-date presentation of the original text.

The first print run of the translated edition will consist of 500 copies. Further details will be announced on the official website and social media pages of the Primavera Foundation.

The Amaryan Charitable Foundation remains committed to supporting the development of high-quality educational materials. One such example is the collaboration in May 2024 with the Primavera Foundation Educational Academy to produce a series of educational videos on musical psychophysiology by international expert Valeria Galimova. These videos are available free of charge on YouTube with Armenian subtitles.
